On November 27 in Poznań, a conference entitled “Crafts in Times of Change – Career Counseling in Technical and Vocational Schools” was organized by the Regional Labour Office in Poznań.
During the meeting, not only were topics related to broadly understood career counseling discussed, but there were also presentations of guidance publications “A Vocational Counselor's Handbook for Technical and Vocational Schools” and “Parent’s Essentials – How to Help Your Child Design Their Career?” In addition, the results of the study “Learning at the Workplace and the Employer's Role in Education” were presented.
Additionally, the conference provided an opportunity for the Deputy Marshal of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, Mr. Wojciech Jankowiak, to present awards to the winners of the “A Profession That Doesn’t Exist Yet” competition:
- 1st place: team from Kornel Makuszyński Primary School in Królikowo, for the project titled “Memory Director”;
- 2nd place: team from Primary School No. 3 named after Fr. Jan Twardowski in Jarocin, for the project titled “Digital Therapist”;
- 3rd place: team from Queen Jadwiga Primary School No. 11 in Piła, for the project titled “Bioengineer – Dream Designer”.
The conference concluded with a discussion panel “From Workshop to Modern Laboratory – Crafts Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”. Its participants included representatives from crafts, education, and the labor market.
Catering for the conference participants was provided by students from the Food Industry School Complex in Poznań.
