The report "Actions undertaken in the area of policy for the development of skills and cooperation in this field in the Wielkopolska region: Higher Education" is the result of analysis and research on an extremely important link for the development of lifelong learning—universities and higher education institutions operating in the Wielkopolska region.
The aim of the study was to collect detailed information on the activities of universities and higher education institutions in the region, their role in implementing the assumptions of the Integrated Skills Strategy 2030, and in the functioning of the region itself. The study took into account, among others:
- actions taken to develop and improve the quality and attractiveness of higher education,
- actions taken to advance science,
- cooperation undertaken by Wielkopolska universities and higher education institutions with other entities,
- activities aimed at preparing students to enter the labor market,
- the interest of young people in higher education.
As part of the research, the following were conducted:
- desk research analysis, including analysis of websites as well as statutes and strategies of universities,
- quantitative studies among representatives of Academic Career Offices (13 surveys) and faculties of Wielkopolska universities and higher education institutions (54 surveys),
- quantitative study among high school graduates: 1,667 interviews with students of general secondary schools and 1,633 with technical school students,
- 43 individual in-depth interviews with representatives of entities involved in the functioning of universities in the Wielkopolska region, such as industry and employer organizations, city offices in which universities operate, institutions dealing with the development of science and higher education, and secondary schools.
